We wanted a water that didn't exist. So we created it.

This is the story of a group of adventurers driven by a shared mission...

It started with a frustration you probably know well.

We traveled. We surfed. We ran in the mountains. We lived close to the ocean and nature. But every time we got thirsty away from home, the story was the same: plastic. Generic plastic, with no history, no purpose, ending up in a trash can — or worse, in the ocean.

We looked for alternatives. We tried reusable bottles, boxed water, eco brands that didn't convince us. Nothing fit. Nothing combined what we wanted: pure water, packaging that didn't destroy anything, a design that represented us, and a mission that was real.

That frustration is exactly why NEA exists.

NEA Eureka Moment

If the perfect water didn't exist, we would create it.

In 2020, we stopped complaining and started creating. The idea was simple but ambitious: real spring water, with the best possible taste, packaged in infinitely recyclable aluminum, with a design that made you want to hold it, and a mission that was more than just a slogan.

We wanted every can of water to do something truly good. Not a "symbolic percentage" or a holiday donation. Something tangible, verifiable, that grew with every purchase.

That's how the idea of planting corals was born. The reefs were dying, we loved the ocean, and we had the opportunity to connect a daily habit — drinking water — with the restoration of one of the planet's most important ecosystems.

We didn't know if it would work. But we knew we had to try.

6 years of adventure. Here's what happened.

May 2019

The beginning

NEA is born in Barcelona. An idea, a small team, and the conviction that water could be different.

July 2019

The first cans

We find our spring in the Alps. The first hotels trust NEA. We launch to the market.

2020

The first corals

#1pic1coral is born: every NEA can = one coral planted. The community starts to grow.

2022

B-Corp Certification

We verify our social and environmental impact against the most rigorous standards in the world.

2023

Europe

We arrive in Germany, France, Italy and beyond. Europe starts serving water with purpose.

2024

The leaders choose NEA

From Marriott to Coldplay. NEA is featured in the most iconic events in the world.

2025

United States

We cross the Atlantic. More than 3,290 corals planted. And this is just the beginning.

We are a small team with a big mission.

Behind NEA is a group of people who share the same passion as you: a love for nature and the belief that brands can be a force for good.

Alex Dakov

Alex Dakov

CEO & Co-founder

He decided his project wouldn't just entertain the world, but protect it. That’s how NEA was born: water to restore the ocean.

"I went from building stages for artists to building structures for corals."

Fernando García-Torrubia

CSO & Co-founder

After scaling global tech startups, he chose to put his experience at the service of something that truly mattered to him.

"The project I am most proud of is the one that plants corals."

And behind it all, we make it happen.

The NEA Team

What we believe in.

Four principles that guide every decision we make. They aren't slogans; they are filters. If a project doesn't pass these four, we don't do it.

Action Over Words

Anyone can promise sustainability. We plant corals. Anyone can say "eco." We hold B-Corp and Carbon Neutral certifications with verifiable data.

Radical Transparency

If something isn't perfect, we say it. We publish our impact data and answer every question about our supply chain. Trust is earned, not bought.

Purposeful Adventure

We believe life is an adventure. NEA was born from the idea that you can live intensely and leave the world better than you found it. They are one and the same.

Community First

NEA isn't just a product you buy; it's a movement you join. We are a tribe of adventurers with a shared mission. And there is a place for you.

We are already thousands. Here is what they say.

DANIELA, 36 YEARS OLD, TENERIFE

My new daily favorite

I bought it out of curiosity and now it’s a must-have in my fridge. It’s incredibly refreshing, and you can really tell it’s high-quality water. I also love the minimalist can design. But the best part is the philosophy behind the project: planting corals with user photos. I think it’s a beautiful and necessary mission.

Perfect for offices and sustainable events

I bought it for a corporate event because we were looking for something sustainable... and it was a total success. Guests kept asking what water it was because it tasted "different"—much smoother. When I told them about the corals, they were mind-blown. It’s a product that brings quality, aesthetics, and purpose together. We will definitely order again!

MARIO, 38 YEARS OLD, MADRID

Worth every penny — plus you're helping the planet

I’ve tried many premium waters, and this is one of the few where you actually notice how good it is. Fresh, light, and without any strange aftertaste. But what drew me in the most was its mission. Seeing a small brand doing something this big for the oceans deserves all the support in the world.

JAIME, 28 YEARS OLD, BARCELONA

Ideal for athletes and ocean lovers

I started buying it to take to the gym because it’s convenient and chills fast. Then I discovered the coral restoration project and fell in love. It feels good to drink something delicious and know that, in some way, you are giving back to the sea. It’s a 10/10 for me.

A total win for our boutique hotel

I manage a small hotel and we decided to try NEA Water for the rooms. The guest feedback has been incredible—they always highlight how crisp and smooth it tastes. Plus, the can looks elegant on the nightstands and fits our sustainable style. And the coral planting... it becomes a conversation starter with every guest! A product that adds value and experience.

GIUSEPPE, 45 YEARS OLD, COSTA RICA

Perfect for my yoga classes

I started taking it to the studio because I was looking for more responsible options than plastic bottles. This water is light, refreshing, and tastes "pure." The can stays cold even during the most intense classes, and I love the energy of the marine restoration project. It’s like hydrating while doing something good at the same time.

ANNA, 32 YEARS OLD, IBIZA

My workout companion

I’m a runner and I love carrying canned water because it cools down much faster. NEA is, by far, the best-tasting one: zero residue, zero weird flavor. Perfect for after a workout. Knowing that, on top of that, I’m supporting coral planting motivates me more than any isotonic drink.

MIREIA, 36 YEARS OLD, BARCELONA

Ideal for hotels that want to make a difference

I first tried it as a hotel guest and ended up looking for it on Amazon. The experience was excellent: smooth water, super fresh, and an elegant design that screams quality. Later, I read about the project's mission and was thrilled to know the brand is helping regenerate reefs. Now I buy it for my home and recommend it to everyone.

CLAUDIA, 28 YEARS OLD, BARCELONA

A conscious touch for my daily routine

I do Pilates and I’m very focused on my well-being. This water fits my lifestyle perfectly: it tastes amazing, it’s light, and the can is very practical to carry in my backpack. But what really caught me was the purpose. Seeing such a simple product contribute to restoring the ocean... it’s beautiful.

The adventure started with us. It continues with you.

NEA was born from a shared frustration. Today, we are thousands of people who have decided that something as simple as drinking water can have meaning. We don't ask you to be perfect; we just invite you to be part of a community that chooses with purpose.
